When possible, applying to the pre-call is strongly recommended. Link.
  • MPRI courses (call for proposals): The course offering at the MPRI for the start of the 2025 academic year will be updated. For a course to be held at the MPRI from the start of the 2025 academic year, the course leader must submit a course proposal. Other people not currently teaching at MPRI may also submit proposals for new courses. Do not hesitate to pass on the information to those around you. Please send your proposal before 31 May 2024 to the MPRI steering committee: mpri-dir@sympa.lmf.cnrs.fr. Here is a course template that can be helpfull.

Nota bene: administrative operations will be reduced from June 1 till well into July. Please, anticipate significant delays in the treatement of administrative issues and contact direction@irif.fr in case of urgency.
  • Submission of ERC projects: CNRS Sciences Informatique wrote us to encourage to prepare an ERC project submission. A meeting will be held on June 5th, 2024 from 1:30pm to 4pm by videoconference. More information and the program of the meeting are available in this document. If interested, please register before May 30. This meeting can help you either to plan your project but also to help and support other members with their ERC project. We remind you that those ERC projects concerns:
    • young researchers and teacher-researchers (C/EC), for the Starting and Consolidator categories, whose initial contributions have already been noticed.
    • senior C/ECs, for the Advanced category, whose work has received strong international recognition.
  • Closure of the university: Due to the Olympic Games, the university will close on the evening of 25 July and reopen on the morning of 19 August. For administrative and technical staff, the day of 26 July will be an undifferentiated day of leave. Staff who have already taken their leave will therefore be credited with this day. Apart from this day, no other arrangements are planned.

IRIF & Environnement

  • Rail travel for conferences: This year, the conferences ICALP, LICS and FSCD will be happening in Tallinn (8-13 July). And Tallinn is difficult to reach by train from Paris… Let us recall that the IRIF internal regulation is to use train instead of plane if the total travel time by train is 5 hours or less, or at most 1 hour longer than by airplane. Of course Tallinn if much farther than that. Nevertheless, a group of motivated colleagues of the lab is organizing an eco-responsible journey to Tallin, using trains and boat, turning this mission into a scientific adventure! The lab is supporting them. If you want to be part of it, please contact as soon as possible Gabriel.Scherer@irif.fr.
