Direction's announcements

  • [REMINDER] Project Deadline: the deadline International Researcher Invitations is approaching: March 13th. It is very important that there are many applications issued from IRIF since the number of missions awarded by the university is proportional to the number of applications. You you can apply through this Limesurvey link. All the information needed can be found in this 2023 Vademecum.
  • Internships: all information about internship agreements and how to fill them is available here.

News

  • Thematic schools: The thematic schools campaign for 2025 has been launched. To submit a project, you must send your statement of intent to IFSEM before March 15, 2024. You can find more information on this document. The guide for developing a thematic school as well as all document templates to be submitted are downloadable on the HRD website.

Equalities comittee

  • CNRS Webinar: On the occasion of International Women's Rights Day, the Mission for Women's Advancement at CNRS is pleased to invite you to the webinar 'Transforming Collective Dynamics into Concrete Actions: CNRS Equality Action Plan 2024-2026'. It will be held on march the 8th 2024 from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. It is mandatory to register. All the information needed and the registration link can be found on this page.
  • Next queerif meeting: the next queeRIF meetup will be on Tuesday, 5th of March at 18:00 at Raton Buveur near the lab. Participants can meet at 17:50 in front of the SG building (main entrance) to walk there, but feel free to come there directly. If you feel a bit queer, but aren't sure whether this is “queer enough”, or if you are unsure about all these things: you are welcome, please join. Queer IRIF visitors and friends/partners you would like to bring are of course also welcome.

IRIF & Environnement

  • 🚲Bike maintenance : A bicycle maintenance toolkit and a pump are available in the common space on 4th floor. Feel free to use it, but, please, put it back where you found it once you are done.

Focus on the next conference "On éteint, on réfléchit, on discute": Digital Commons

Organized within the Computer Science Department by François Laroussinie, the second french speaking conference « On éteint, on réfléchit, on discute » on «Les communs numériques» (“Digital Commons”) will take place on Tuesday, March 19, from 4 pm to 6 pm in auditorium 10E at La Halle aux Farines.

“While we often talk about the GAFAM, the monopolization of internet users' data, and their commercial exploitation, we also know and use open encyclopedia Wikipedia, the cartographic project OpenStreetMap, or open-source software that, conversely, relies on collaboration among internet users. So, there's a realm of computing that shares, cooperates, that creates 'common' resources. The term 'digital commons' has recently emerged, and we invite Serge Abiteboul and Valérie Peugeot to discuss it.”

Find all the information on the UFR conference page.
